The long wait has an end - the follow-up to the massive "shockwaves" success beginning of this year is about to leave the studio!
Rumours are saying that it will come with massive remixes by 2 of the hottest talents from NL & UK - the truth about it and if "last time" will on the flip in a few days... ;)

Also the plans for the debut Artist Album are becoming realistic!
It will feature the hottest remixes of Martin from the past month, new collaborations with likes of Marc van Linden, Santiago Nino and Lange as well a bright variety of new works from the studio...and a long awaited single which was so far unofficial..........

Around the world in 80 days...

...ok, Jules Verne is no DJ - or is there still a secret you haven't told us Judge Jules? ;) - but the last weeks felt like living a bit of science fiction...

At the moment I am on the plane from San Francisco back to Frankfurt and finally have got the time to reflect the passed weeks which went by so fast but gave me impressions I still have to
order as it was way too much and too many nice moments easy to remember - I'd like to tell you a bit what I am talking about:

After coming
back from my beloved country Australia where I had been on tour for 3 weeks now the 5th time, I was really depressed and sad as everytime I am leaving this wonderful place. I could tell you for hours why it is so nice over there - but this is another issue and I will tell you more when I will return in a few month to downunder.
Anyway, I had no real time to feel sad as I went the next days with my best friends to Austria to relax a few days in the alps and have a lot of nice white snowboarding and a few days later to Poland playing my first summer festival this year @ "sound garden festival".

There was no big time the following week for spending in the studio focussing on my new single as the plane to China left thursday morning and I had to prepare a few edits and CDs for the gig in Guangzhao. I was picked up in Hongkong and after having some relaxing time in a massage spa (which must be the reason for living in China ;)) we drove by train to one of the biggest cities in South China where I was playing at YES nightclub. The promotion was massive - besides the HUGE posters on the building also the entrance was paved with big flyers telling "Martin Roth is playing here tonight - so forget the soccer worldcup!" ;)

The gig went great, the club was packed and generally my first china experience was really funny: As I said "massage" is very huge over there >> during I was playing I felt like taking a leak so I was running to the toilet and even by stressful emptying the bladder someone came giving my neck a short massage - crazy guys - it seems that having a massage and feeling relaxed is the key for living over there - ok, not a really bad attitude...
An
yway - after I left the packed dancefloor for a tiny short break I returned back to the DJ-Booth suddenly noticing that also all the people in the club took a break - "ahh, if the DJ has left, we also take our time to have a short drink..." - but after everyone got their cold beverage (and of course a small massage ;)) the party went on :)

With the image that the Chinese are eating nearly everything, d
riving car like never seen before but are really nice and polite (party-)people I flew back home on Monday really glad to return asap to see much more of this huge & interesting country...

A few days later I found myself again at my new home the Frankfurt International Airport departing to the US looking forward to a small tour through America. First stop took me to Los Angeles where I played @ Heaven - I felt very delighted and emotional as I met many people which were coming from long distances like San Diego only to see me play. So thanks again boys&girls: this made me feel sooo glad and again realize, how far my music has spread and how happy it makes you...!
Huge thanks also to Hana for taking me
in the morning back to the hotel in her massive sportscar - rrrrrhhhhhh.... :)

As fast as I came as fast I also left LA to San Francisco. On Saturday night I played as the headlining artist at a kind of rave called "Electro Techno LOVE" and it was a turn on from the first second. Perfect organsation, perfect caretaking, lovely people, sold out venue and a nice vibe all over the place. So I started playing at 1:30h, the dancefloor was packed and I had lots of fun - so much fun that I pulled down the master fader by mistake and noticed it first while dancing with my headphones on on stage after the people stopped moving, watching me what the hell this guy is doing there on his own ;)) But after setting the venue again under "usual-high-volume" the high voltage returned back to the crowd in seconds more than before.

The next day after having breakfast with the other DJs of the night like Robert Nickson, Deep Voices and Thomas Datt (Melly, he grabbed my ass for you!! ;)) we spent the day in SF, this lovely town at wonderful sunny weather.
It was very busy as the 4th of July was around the corner. Unfortunately there were so many nice places for shopping that I left back a lot of money in the US :(
On monday the manager of Armin text-messaged me if I'
d like to come to Spundae tonight as AvB was playing there and he noticed I am in the city - so I went there and it was a blast!!
Packed with trendy posh dressed people, a massive vibe all over the place - I loved it & we had a nice party!
US like ;)

During spending the next day with a lot of friends in Oakland around lunchtime I had to witness Germany was kicked out of the worldcup by Italy - I was close to suicide...
But all the nice people around (Hi to all you SIRENS - I am sorry 4 have been so tired that day but one day the letlag had to return...) deflected me by playing some football & baseball in the Courtyard.

Even though I felt a little depressed and sad that day - all my friends at home had and have been to the "fanmiles" in Germany watching the games like I did too the week before and now I was missing them - the amazing summer in Germany of 2006. Plus an adventure in Central America was waiting for me and I wasn't sure what to expect so I wished myself back home for a few minutes - maybe a result of the bouncing back jetlag...?!

How could I have known, that the best days - maybe in my entire life - were only a few hours in front of me...?!

After the fireworks for the 4th of July I took the plane to El Salvador being really glad that TACA airlines which took me to CA was using no jungle-turboprop-airplane like I feared but the most modern airbus I ever took. Brad-new fleet - best airline experienced so far - lots of space - I can more than recommend them!
Due to the fact that I was so tired I slept the
whole 6h flight and even missed the start.
At San Salvador airport which looked like a smll island in the big jungle I took the next plane right to G
uatemela. From the first minute I arrived, I liked this place a lot - it had something special - the warmth of the people, the big extremes: the poor and the rich people who even though were living nicely together, the lovely nature, the nice small towns which the people were showing me the upcoming days - I enjoyed it a lot and the people treated me so nicely honestly from the heart.

One experience I easily can remember too of course is the day I met Miss Guatemala - I sat down in the hotel lobby one day and a girl who was working there came to me, starting some conversation. At the end it came out that she was actual Miss GUA :) - haven't I already said, I loved this place ;)
(Hi Alejandra, was
very nice meeting you and next time you'll like electronic music :))

In the night I played at Irradiah nightclub which turned to be one of the best gigs I ever had. I was scared a little the whole time what kind of music-style the people will like here but they partied to everything, freaking out, had so much fun and were showing it like never seen before - nice packed club, beautiful smiling & the music enjoying people - the place to be!
A big hug to Santiago Nino and Andres (and of course Fernando) btw. for warming the people up perfectly and for being such nice guys!!

I was asked for next morning to give an interview for Guatemala Television so we went to a wonderful place called "otelito" for having a fantastic ambience with a more than fantastic TV-host. (Ale, qué tan dulce es tu actitud? ;))
I will upload the interview asap I am getting it so if you are interested please check my websites of blog to have a quick look at it.

You can imagine, it wasn't very easy to jump on the plane back to San Francisco and then to Frankfurt 2 days later but the show had to go on and I am pretty sure to return to this fair and beautiful spot on earth & meet all the new friends I made again. We have already lots of plans for Central America so I can't wait...
Btw: Santiago Nino and me will do a collab the next few weeks featured on both upcoming albums and perhaps as a single release.

When returning, there won't be much time to relax as many things are waiting for me in the studio as well as heading upcoming Friday to London UK playing in Gallery/Turnmills and I am really looking forward to it - will be fun I am sure!!

The next few days I'll take a little time-out for finalizing a massive remix for Armada and for something a lot of you are waiting for anxoiusly: my new single - for those who like to know more about it, I think I will dedicate another blog entry in the next hours/days...

Thanks for reading guys and thank you damn phone companies for having these shameless high roaming fees that cut my gig-fees to 0...

Martin*
